There is no future
without knowing
and learning from
the past
The immigration process had a significant impact on the Southern Region of Brazil between the 19th and 20th centuries. The arrival of European immigrants, part of a broader transcontinental migration that shaped the Americas, continues to influence the area to this day. Straub Design, in collaboration with architect Aurélio Sant'Anna and journalist Maria Celeste Correa, created a project with memorable experiences, connecting the current reality with the history of Joinville and Southern Brazil.

”The design and exhibition project was conceived to bring a contemporary perspective to the museum and provide a memorable and emotional experience for visitors.”
Ericson Straub, creative director

The exhibition also invites us to reflect on the phenomenon of migration, a fundamental human right and a universal experience that transforms societies. From the earliest movements of Homo sapiens out of Africa to the large waves of European immigrants who arrived in Brazil, each step of this journey is an essential part of the history of humanity and, particularly, the Americas.
